Re: what is the WOT on a 1993 four winns 195 sundowner
I'm hauling her to a local, well-respected, high-performance engine builder tomorrow morning that I know and have dealt with before. I live in DE, the boat is in North Wildwood, NJ and problems arose when I was in VA for a week with the boat... so, it has been a
total riot to get situated as to
when I could get it and
where I could take it.
I've was laid up with a bad back and work travel for two weeks, and I am getting her the he!l out of the marina/boatel she is in at 8am sharp tomorrow (two hour ride from home). I asked them to do a leakdown test when I was away, and all they had were %'s for each cylinder; it was done on a cold engine and no one could report where leakage was (valves, rings, etc)! They are nothing but parts hangers -- Forget diagnostics or machine work.
All they want to do is sell me a reman long block, which you can't very well find anyway. I went from them wanting to remove the head to me wondering about the overall health of the engine to them calling about longblocks!
I should have been like every other knuckle head and just said, "Sure, tear her down and see where the leak is" and then just replaced the head or gasket, or whatever. I'd like to know if replacing parts even makes sense at this point!
I have a cracked head, blown head gasket or a serious freakin' problem with the new manis/risers. That problem allowed salt water to intrude.
So, off to a real shop with real gearheads and engine builders that I know and we will do a real leakdown test and make a real conclusion.
I'm sure I will wind up with more HP somehow!
