I bet you are going to find out that is a Champion bass boat, they probably shortened the nae for the title. What year does the title say it is?

Interesting, according to the USCG list of boat manufacturers, Doggett never listed themselves as boat builders.

Perhaps they bought boats built by someone else, and just labelled them Doggett. I couldnt even find a Doggett industries listed in Malvern, Arkansas, for any industry.

Very interesting, I don't know that I have run into a boat that I could not find any information about? Now I am curious...

I just did a deep web search and found 4 Doggett boats for sale in Australia, all aluminum, Perhaps, they tried to make it here in the states and didn't cut it.

But honestly, it still looks like an older Champion bass boat..

who manufactured it tells you very little about value. Condition, condition, condition! (and year to some extent) Can't tell what the interior looks like, and don't know your area, but a rough guess puts it between $1000 and $2000. Water pouring out with no vehicle connected (and no prop!) is a bad sign... Means the boat probably sat on the trailer with the plug in and got a bunch of rainwater in it. And if that old evinrude is electric shift, that hurts value a little also, parts for those are far and few between, and no mechanic is going to touch the lower unit.

I think ... Doggett Marine Industries owned several companies (think Brunswick), and Champion (TSB) was a brand of theirs until Ranger eventually bought them out ... I think :)

Do a Google search for 1970's Champion Bass Boats and you should start seeing what looks like yours. The motor on the back is early 70's ... aside from dealing with electric shift, that powerhead was a good one (IMHO).

Yea I love the boat and motor. It's in really good condition for being a 72. Interior is decent. I just took the prop off to find the numbers cause its the old evinrude props. Wanted a new one. The reason why water is pouring out in the picture is because I took the picture during a rain shower last night lol. But aside from maybe a good sanding with a new paint job. And maybe a new steering box the boat is pretty smooth for its age. But I thank everyone for their input and help learning about this boat.

I had an 85hp evinrude ES on a 16' trihull many moons ago. Never did verify, but I swear that 85 horse was no where close to 85. I would have believed someone stuffed a 125 under an 85 cowling. That little 16' trihull was almost scary! Did a lot of skiing behind it, and you had to be careful not to detach the skiers arms from their shoulders on takeoff!

Powerhead was rock solid, and I got rid of the boat before any electric shift issues came up.

Well right now with the prop on it I was lucky to get 33 mph from gps with it but was having an issue with the whole shot so I put the dolphin find on it now it won't go over 27 mph from what I've read it has the old style prop that came on the 72' 85 hp. But I am waiting on my tach to come in so I can see my rpm. But I know I can get more out of that 85 hp on that 16ft boat.
