What is this connector/bracket thing?

This connector and bracket have been on my boat dash as long as I've owned it but I've never actually figured out what it goes to. I'm sure it's something really common but I don't know what it is. Can anyone tell me what this is for? Thx

A simple gps or fishfinder comes to mind, based on the small number of connections.

older garmin fishfinder, The red round connector is for power.
