I have a 1985 Glastron ssv-176 with a Evinrude v4 140hp. I have a button on the side of the transom that I don't know what it does. It has red and black wires coming out of the back. I attached two pictures. Thanks

All Glastron's have a self-destruct button. It unleashes the Corbamite reaction (Captain Kirk). Sorry! Couldn't resist.

Is it a button or a fuse? What do the wires connect to? It might be a remote tilt button to raise and lower the engine. What happens when you push it?

If the boat is stolen, call that number for the reward :)

That's what I was thinking....... but destruction is usually aborted in the last seconds. :D Don't wear a red shirt on the landing party ;)

I am with Bond-o on this ....... looks like a fuse holder. Does the cap unscrew? Have you pushed the button

Perhaps a manual overide button for an automatic bilge pump?

Re: What is this for?

It's not a fuse. It has positive and negative wires. I have not had a chance to trace the wires yet. It clicks when I push on it. Hopefully this helps. Thanks

Re: What is this for?

Its the main fuse for the boat.
I have the same thing on my glastron at the same location.

Unscrew the cap and the fuse will come out with it. If not then you are missing the fuse.
