Hi,
can someone tell me what this is on my lower end
see pics
theres a little fitting with a hose on it, pointing up, going thru a hole.
what is it for, and where does it go?

Can't say for certain but it could be a pitot fitting.for a speedometer. :noidea:

It is a coupler for the pitot tube for a speedo. Does the boat have a speedometer? It would have a tube some where on the transom that connects to the coupler fitting.

I agree with the others that it's probably a speedo tube. I have an '87 50 and it's got something similar. It was just capped off. Look at the forward end of the lower unit, you should see the water inlet in the housing.

so since I don't have a speedo, do I need to do anything with it?
or just leave it?
