What is this?

Boat has apparently two transducers mounted on it:
one: after tracking the wire, goes to the small rounds depth gauge on the dash
two: after tracking the wire, ends at the small connection pictures above.

I do believe the transducer says Hummingbird on it... so what is it?
I do not have a fish finder mounted, but that isn't to say the previous owner didn't.
If this is indeed a connection for a fish finder, what models is this compatible with?

Looks like a buzzer to me. How many wires are coming out of it?

That is likely the Alarm Sounder for when the depth gauge detects shallow water.

Re: What is this?

There are two transducers mounted, one looks like a fish finder transducer to me, and the other looks like a ... idk, bent rigid finger lol.

I traced the wire from this:

I didn't notice the wire connect to any other wires, or any power supply, it just ends here.

Just the wire coming from the transducer...

hummm sure looks like a buzzer but I dont see why it would be coming from the transducer. Does it come apart?

The outside ring comes off, that's about it. I'll take better pictures right now...

Re: What is this?

Ok, so.. everyone was correct. Upon further inspection, it IS connected to the depth finder.

Which then brings me to this question...
What is THIS? Water Temp/Speed?

Thanks for taking the time guys, I'm kinda new to boats that I don't have to paddle.

Pitot tube i believe... its what allows your speedometer to gauge your speed.

Re: What is this?

It's all making sense now.. haha!

If and when I add a Fish Finder, I just remove the current transducer & depth gauge ... and install the new unit (trying to utilize the current transducer brackets)?

Rendering my tach size depth gauge inop? or is there a wiring adapter to allow me to still use the current gauge as well?

I know I'm asking a lot of questions, and I appreciate your taking the time, and being polite...

Re: What is this?

Do you currently have a fish finder???

From my experience the round type depth gauges utilize a transducer which stays inside the boat glued to the bilge area. Fish finders typically need to be placed outside the hull like what you have.

Im just trying to figure if you currently have 2 transducers or just one.

I do not currently have a fish finder, and only have 1 transducer (after establishing the other thing is a Pitot Tube).
The transducer in the pictures above is the only transducer.
Additionally, the transducer wire goes into the back of the round type depth gauge.
I will attach a picture later of the front/rear of the depth gauge as well.
