What is VRO?

My cousins GT 150 has VRO on it, my 91 just has Tracker GT150 pro series..what is the VRO? Have heard of some upgrading VRO to OMS? Not sure what OMS is either....thanks

VRO = variable ratio oiling
OMS = Oil Metering System

Basically the same animal but the earlier vro pumps delivered less oil at lower speeds than the later OMS pumps.

vro delivers a variable rate of oil. OMS delivers 50:1 continously.

OMS runs a much tighter ratio than the VRO pumps averages 60:1 see: http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/VRO.html

The VRO ran between 50:1 and 100:1 depending on RPM.
