Re: what is

Tilt: Wide range of movement up and down. Full tilt up is for trailering. Full tilt down is where to start and run. Never start and run in full tilt up. A tilt switch is usually on the dash.

Trim: Much smaller range of movement, describes trimming the attack angle of the prop by adjusting the drive up and down in very slight increments. Trim is designed to start with drive at full tilt down then trim up as needed for best cruising speed and rpm, or back down to avoid porpoising. A trim switch is usually on the throttle lever.

Some have a Beach setting for the tilt, that is usually the highest tilt angle the engine can be running at with no damage.

Re: what is

"Trailer trim" is bringing the outdrive all the way up. (Don't run in this position)
Trim in and trim down are the same thing.
Trim out and trim up are the same thing
