What killed my recitifier

A little history the boat was org. wired for 1996 175 rude. the guy that i got it from installed 1986 E225TXCDA with rebuild power head. the tesh. did not work he said a wire must be off the compression checked 100-115 got it home check the rect. per CDI it checked bad installed new one tech. worked Stator check good ran couple hours tech.quit rect. check bad what else could be killing the recitifier

Incorrect rectifier, improperly grounded rectifier, corrosion on the leads, loose connections on the starter solenoid or battery. Their really is no way the stator can be damaged to a way where it will put out more than capable amount of A/C voltage unless it is the wrong stator.

thanks Jeff will check all of the above can anything in the wireing at the controls effect the recitifier, motor did start once with kill lanyard off.

All the items Jefferson listed will kill a rectifier along with a weak water pump as it does not fill the block completely. This is what cools the rectifier.....
