What Kind of Battery should I get?

I have a 9.9 HP BigFoot 4-Stroke, I have a dedicated battery for my engine. And I need to get a new Battery for my 43 lb thrust trolling motor, any suggestions on what type of battery, and how powerfull amp wise? Just looking for some pointers on what kind of battery I should get, strictly used for all day fishing on a trolling motor, thanks guys?

Deep cycle battery.<br />The bigger you get, the longer the charge lasts.<br />Size may depend on available space, size of battery box, etc.<br />A series 24 battery would be ok if you were only gonna use it a couple hours a day.<br />A series 27 (bigger)or 31 (huge) is what you want for longer run time.

Cranking amps (ccr)are not important . its the reserve capacity you should should be looking for, higher value (minutes)the longer it will last.Sounds like your boat is light. A good quality wet filled battery, series 27 should do the job a 31 even better but be careful where you put it in a small boat, you will have enough exta weight to affect handling if its unbalanced. Also make sure you have a good charger to keep it charged properly.<br /><br /> Jim

What kind of charger should I have? Right now I have a Pro Series (Dual Pro Charger), I just plug 'er in the night before I go out fishing. Should be enough to charge a 27 or 31 series, shouldn't it?

Your charger will be fine, I have a Pro charger, ( I actually bought it from JB about 100 years ago), and its been great, Also I have heard that there customer service is bar none.<br /><br />Buy a Trojan Battery if you can swing the price, you will never regret it. I run two 24s wired together, but I would suggest a single 27 for your application.

Thanks guys, preciate all of your advice, I will get a nice 27 series, all I need it for is running my trolling motor, the other one is for my 9.9 HP BigFoot, one dedicated for each application. thanks again guys
