I have acquired two johnson outboards last may.

I still don't know what model or year they are.

Only one has a name plate on boat mount which say FD15.
According to the johnson shop its a 1961.

My SELCO repair manual says thay are 18 HP, however they both came with shrouds that say they are 20 HP.

My manual say 20 hp never existed until 1966.

I got a number off a welsh plug on one engine C0454469 if that helps.

They were painted orange.

cheers

Model FD-15
HP= 18
year = 1961

You can can find the chart for motor at the top of this forum labeled secret files. Then click the option "what year is my motor??" When the pdf open perform a search of the document under find option type FD-15 and it will bring you to the information.
