What model boat is it....

Ok.. I have a REALLY stupid question... I purchased a used boat a few weeks back. A 1988 Bayliner Capri with a 3.0 OMC sterndrive... How do I tell what model of boat this is for ordering things? Example.. is it a 1400 or 1401..?? Like that...

There should be a vin# stanped in somewhere on the corner of the transom.

Yeah... I found that.. that is the hull number. But how do I "translate" that into the model number?

The model of the boat really doesn't matter much. Chances are the parts you will need will be for the engine and outdrive anyways. It is likely you wouldn't be able to get model specific parts from Bayliner anymore. Most of the fittings, gauges and accessories will be generic.
