What new drive works with my old motor?

I have an older volvo penta PLKD model (1996) carb 5.7L engine hooked to a Duoprop drive DP-A ratio 1.95. The drive has been very dependable but it is starting to slowly fall apart. What new VP drives would fit with my older engine? Then once I commit to a drive, will that then limit my future choices when I replace the engine in 5 years? Right now, the engine has many years left.

Why not just rebuild your current drive?? A new one will require a new transom mount, gimbal pivot mount and upper/lower gearcases adding up to thousands. For under a couple of grand, you can have yours rebuilt.

Can you post a picture of your drive?? The DP-A drive was used back in the late 80's, not 96.
