Okay, so I just bought a Hartley TS16 that was built in 1984. For those of you who don't know a Hartley is a plywood hull, 16' Trailer sailer, commonly built as home builds in Australia from the 60s onwards to the mid 80s (it is stil built today but not very often and not very many). The paint on both the hull and topside is cracked in many places and I have made the decision to sand it back and repaint it.
Here is the issue I face:
I plan on taking to boat out for a few hours at a time to a few days at a time. When it's not in the water, it might be out (on it's trailer) for up to a month. I know that if a boat is in the water for more than a day, then antifouling paint is the way to go, but I've heard that the paint doesn't do too well outside of the water. What is the best paint to use in this situation?
