What pitch prop for 1985 75 hp Merc?

can anyone tell me what pitch prop to use on my 1985 75 hp merc? we have been having a bunch of problems trying to get it to run under load in the water - it works fine in the tank - but it will only go about 1/4 throtle in the water. someone said it might be the wrong pitch on the prop. anyone?

1/4 throttle will be other than a prop issue. runs good in tank while in nuetral the when in water in forward you only get 1/4 throttle? if this is true sounds like missing some cyliders. spark maybee. nuetral will let motor rev no mater how many cylinders ar working but in gear youll see the truth becuase there is a load. sorry not the prop
