Just bought the boat and plan to do some tubing and lake cruising. I think it has a 14/19 on it now and I am at about 5000 rmp at WOT. I am thinking I need some more pitch but am new to this would appreciate a recommendation. I see both 3 and 4 blade props in this range. Boat does seem to struggle to get on plane with 2 people in the tube. Engine runs very good otherwise (60 hrs on boat).

Where are you with regards to the recommended rpm range?? If you are near the top end, don't drop down in pitch, you'll end up overrevving your engine and will REALLY shorten it's life. Go with a 4 blade in the same pitch. You'll drop a bit of rpm but will plane out a lot quicker and will stay on plane when going slower.

Read "read this first" at the of the prop forum and get us as much info as possible.
Be sure of the prop size and rpm and gps speed. Some cells have a gps app.
A couple of dedicated lightly loaded runs to get a base line rpm and speed.
