I would say a 9-11P. Probably 11 and go from there. I have a 24' with a 115 and had to go from a 15p to a 13p. I was only getting 5000wot with the 15p. I'll see how the 13p does tomorrow

their is normal a drop of 200 to 300 rpm per drop per pitch a drop of 2 from a 15 would be a 13 and some where in the neighborhood of a 400 to 600 rpm increase, how ever on pontoon boats it can be more or less.

I have a 131/2 by 15 pitch on my 22' with a 115 yamaha. The boat will run 35 mph according to the speedo with me and two kids on board on calm water.WOT is right at 6000 rpm. This is a two toon boat. I have not tried the gps to see what it says the boat is realy doing though.

That seems VERY fast for that set-up. If you get a chance, verify with a gps and let us know. Looks like you have the perfect prop based on your rpms.

It's the same prop I have too looks like.

Yes the general rule of 200-300 rpm change when increasing or decreasing 2" of pitch rarely seems to apply for pontoon boats. I've seen 500-800 rpms change at times. It's an anomaly !!! Good luck.

Yes - drop the motor back down so it can operate in cleaner water. Then stop trying to break a water speed record for 22 ft pontoons with an 88spl. You will not get much more out of that rig unless you add lifting strakes or more power. Experimenting with props is costly and you may gain only 1 or 2 more MPH.

Re: what prop for 22ft toon

WaterDR, I think my speedo is not right, I figure that the true speed is closer to 25mph with me and two kids on calm water. The tach reading 0f 6000 is I hope correct as thats the max rpm per the Yamaha manual for the 115 four stroke. I will try and get a GPS reading next time I take the toon out though. The 115 motor realy does a fine job of pushing the 22' toon around though and is very easy on the fuel,I run her at around 4500 rpm when cruising and with the 27 gallon tank I could run this boat all day for a weekend and still have a little gas left!
