What prop should I get for Johnson 150hp?

I have a 1989 bass tracker with a Johnson 150hp. I need a new prop, but don't know what to get. I'm looking for hole shot and top end.

What size is on it now? You probably need to remove the prop to see the numbers stamped on the hub.

Lots of Johnson/Evinrude guys run Raker props.

If you want to run a Merc prop, the hot ticket would be a Tempest Plus.

If your looking for a nice prop for the money, I'm a big fan of my Turning Point Hustler. While it did effect my top end at all, it did completely solve a blowout I was having on the hole shot and coming out of turns.

I like the Hustlers as well. I put one on my 21'DC/Johnny 150HPV6. Works pretty well.

Which basstracker hull do you have? If its the 1800 hull a 24p Raker worked EXTREMELY well on my buddies boat . He had one with a XP150. Holeshot was decent for the heavy boat and topend was as good as she could get due to the fact that the Tracker hull isnt really a high performance hull. Topend on a good day with a light load was mid 50's

yes it's the 1800. Currently I'm running a 14 1/2 x 24 with a jack plate. I've been reading about these guys getting their RPM's up to 5800 and topping out at 60 mph. Is this too much prop?

All I have been doing is reading about different props and applications, and now I have really confused myself. Like I said, the prop I currently have is 14 1/2 x 24. I know the "24" refers to the pitch and the 14 1/2 refers to the diameter. Does that mean I have to look for a 14 1/4 x ?? prop? Or can I run a different diameter prop? What does this all mean?
