I live in Idaho around 3000 feet alt. I finally got a second engine for my 15' Cat and I can't find props. Each engine will be pushing about 700 lbs when the boat is loaded so according to the old tables that would put me needing maybe 13" to 15" I know they exist but all I can find are 12" and lower. Where does a guy find a prop for a super thunderbolt?

You might try at Johns Old Mercury Site. I haven't been on the site in years but should have plenty of help and interesting features.

Thanks for the reply, I posted a thread over there today. I also have a thread on AOMCI

It looks like I may have located a 13p but I still need another one. How do you guys feel about one prop being 3 blade and the other being 2 blade but same pitch? It seems weird to me, different amounts of slip.

From my limited experience I think the 58A may have come with a 2 blade. It might be easier to find another 2 blade
2 blade may be faster.

Really doubt you want to mix and match. Things need to be identical and to be a purist, counter rotating on one; takes the torque out of the steering. Course I don't remember the luxury back then. Michigan Wheel used to build the bronze 2 bladed props back then and I agree with steel on the 2 blade OEM wheel. They may still carry them. If you don't match things up the dominant engine will have to drag the other. I know this is far fetched but for the idea of what I'm saying, I saw a 15 and 25 rude on a boat once and the 25 obviously was dominant. When the guy punched it out, the 15 just kicked up from the water pressure against it.

What you would be doing would be playing with the throttles to balance out the rig.

Mark 58A, 45 hp, 1959, beautiful engine. Loved the alum ring (lifting handle) around it which Merc later dropped and the escutcheon on the front, also dropped in quality.

My 2c,
Mark
