What props?

Hi.
I've just bought a 1996 Cruisers Yachts Rogue 2670 in the UK and, as the duoprops have been stolen (actually swapped for some scrap ones) I'm after a starting point for which props to use.

Specs. are:
Length 26'. Beam 9'4". Draft 2'1" (all approx.).
Motors - 2 X Volvo penta 4.3 Vortec (V6 gasoline).
Drives - 2 X Volvo Penta DPC1 duoprops.

The boat will be used for cruising/fast cruising.

The scrap props were odd sizes - B5 on the port side and B6 on the starboard side.

I've been offered a set of B4 props and wondered if these would be a good starting point?

really grateful for any advice or suggestions.

Thanks.

Re: What props?

Offered? Like for free? Heck, put them on and get WOT RPM and speed, hole shot idea. Then you can actually determine the correct props you need.

Re: What props?

Would it make sense to have the same prop set on both drives?

Oh, you were offered only one set. Yes, both engines need the same props.

Re: What props?

Thanks for the quick responses guys.
The props were different because the originals were stolen and they are so badly damaged they really are just scrap (I wouldn't run it with odd sets of props).
The B4s aren't free sadly but are cheap. I guess I'll get them and look for another set of B4s & try them (can always sell them on).
Forgot to list that the drives are 2.3:1.
Many thanks from the UK.

Re: What props?

I was just typing in to ask you for the drive ratios and re-read your latest post, cool. I think B5 to B6 is a good range to stay in. I would put B5's on it now if you can.

Your plan for the B4's is ok too. I bought and sold some on eBay to get the final set I needed. Two sets of DuoProps can make for expensive experiments for sure :)
