What replacement truck parts fit my truck?

I have a 1990 Chevy S-10, 4.3 liter, automatic.<br />I need a new transfer case. <br />I need to cross-reference and see what year vehicles are good for my truck. <br />There is a guy in the newspaper who has one, but it is a 1986. He says it fits, but how am I to be sure. <br />I sure would hate to buy it and get it home and find out it is wrong.....and then go through BS with the guy to get my money back. <br />I have no intention of taking off my transfer case, to see if it matches. I am paying a friend to replace it, this weekend. <br />My bud just told me to get a replacement transfer case and he would replace it for me.<br /><br />Thanks for any info,<br />B.C.

Salvage yards has crossover books that will say what is interchangable. We have several around here that are large busy yards. I'll see if I can call them today and find out for you.

Thanks for the help guys. <br />I think I will call a junk yard around here and see if that transfer case will fit.<br />Dreamer1Q: So, what your info is saying is...#1 and #3 will work for me? All I have to do is check to see if the numbers match? <br />Dolluper...yes, it is an extended cab. That is pretty spendy for a transfer case. The guy here only wants $100 for his. <br />I'm going to call the guy tomorrow and see what's up.<br />Thanks,<br />B.C.
