what sander do i use ?

hi everyone .. i have a 1986 larson senza that i want to sand and paint . the hull is really faded and there is a few nicks in the hull i want to fix . could someone tell me what kind of sander to use and what grit number of paper to use ? also what should i use to fill the small nicks in the hull ? iwould like to paint it a dark metallic gray .. thankyou .

On the sander I would recomend a random orbit like this one in fact when my Makita died this is what I got and it works great,

You can get sandpaper for it in contractors packs at Homie Desperate .
