I am fixing to pull the heads on my ocean pro to inspect the cylinders. I've had some compression issues so I want to look before I take it to the shop. Mine has the individual o rings and I was wondering what the sealant that I see pressed between block and heads is. Just want to have some on hand in case I don't have an issue with rings or cylinders. I've checked compression several times and seems its been different just about every time. Came back and checked another time and compression was within the 10% range.

Call the shop you're taking it to and ask them so you don't mix sealers

The OEM Service manual specifies Triple-guard grease on the O-Rings and a1/2" RTV Silicone bead around each water passage. Do not use anything on the head bolts or around the top thermostat hole. Torque bolts in stages to 20-22 Ft-pounds
