I have a 1976-1977 175 HP OMC (FORD 302 I think it is) that I recently had the out drive rebuilt including changing the gear ratio to what it should be for this engine. On first test, I had problems reaching 3000rpm. Before thinking about changing props, does anyone know or can direct me to the correct manuf. WOT specification? I have searched everything I can think of but no luck. Thanks

4000-4400 according to the 1977 service manual..

I'd split the difference- 3900-4300 :)

If you can source an OEM OMC service manual for your model year, the information you seek is contained within. FWIW, I sourced my OMC service manual ('88) on eBay.

Good luck.
