Went to pull my boat out of the lake tonight and some jerk stole the battery.

My engine is a 1983 Evinrude 50HP. What size battery is recommended? I don't remember what size the one that got stolen was, it came with the boat so I never really paid attention.

Thanks,

Gary

couple of strategies: From Car Guys advice -- Get an old junker for the next time it gets lifted -- might leave you alone after that.

But.... might want one to use as well. I like deep cycles with decent storage capacity and cranking amps. maybe 625 cranking amps. Had NAPA batteries and they are pretty good. Had DieHards for years, and seemed very good. Have a sense it probably doesn't make too much difference.

Just put the biggest battery in there that either fits in the space allowed, or you can afford. A 50 doesn't really need a big battery though.
