It make a lot of diff when ya put the right prop on the motor, A 45 to 50hp motor is really plenty or power for a toon, I had a 24ft toon with a 80hp an a 19 pitch prop on it an it done a wonderfull job pushing the toon on the lake,,:D

If the tag says 60, then that's that maximum amout you can go without causing other issues. (Insurance, stress on the transom, Etc.)

What year is your boat? I have a newer 20' Sun Tracker and it's rated for 115. I have a 60 on it and it runs about 20 mph at WOT. I'm running a 14x11 prop. Also, your motor needs to be a long shaft.

better see what your your wot rpms are,it will do no good to over prop or pitch it,$ is hard enuf to come by without having to eat the wrong prop.call bass pro & ask what is the correct for your toon, they can look it up with no problem

What do you consider a full load?

I have a 2010 Party Barge 20 with the 90HP Merc. My boat is rated for 10 people, but with 7 adult sized people, gear, a full cooler and tank of gas it's not really peppy. It moves ok loaded, but certainly not like when it's just the three of us.

What is the diameter of the logs? You should check your prop size before doing anything, usually under the prop nut. What is the present rpm with a light load?
The 60 won't change top speed much but will be just cruising when the 45 would be busting a gut.A 4 blade prop may improve speed slightly and will improve handling.

Re: What Size Engine

you prop an outboard to an rpm not a situation, there is a max rpm your engine is suppose to run, you need to know what it is doing now to know where to go next.

If you just throw a prop on it and it is way under you could blow the engine by over revving it and if you put one on that is too big you will lug the engine to death.

What rpm is the engine turning now a wide open throttle?

Is the engine running as it should, if it isn't running properly no prop in the world is going to help you.

Lastly define "full load" are you staying within the load limit of the boat, if it is rated for 1400lbs and you are putting 1800lbs of people and gear on it that will slow you down too.

It is a pontoon, they aren't fast boats, even with the engine running perfectly and propped right it still isn't going to be fast especially loaded down with 6-8 people, it is just how they are.

I think loaded up 10-15 mph is all she even running perfectly.
