what size prop should i have?

16 foot 4 inches center console<br />6 feet beam<br />10 inch draft<br />700 pounds dry<br />270 motor<br />100 gas +battery<br />100 pounds crap<br />200 pounds me<br />total weight....1370 pounds<br /><br />motor is merc 1150 inline 6<br /><br />mercurys website says i should have a 29 pitch prop. i feel thats just a ....TAD.....too much<br /><br />anybody have similar setups?

Your boat weight seems very low. I though my boat weighed about 1700# also and couldn't figure out why the prop selecter wanted such a high pitch. My 17' Starcraft superfisherman with a 115 hp merc comes in around 2300# and the merc prop finder suggestes 17- 23 pitch. It came with a 21" which works well for cruising. I tried a 19 for last 2 weeks and got 5200 rpm and the same speed (45MPH gps)as the 21 @ 4750 so I'm going back to the 21p.
