Hello Everyone,

The boat is finally done and running again, I tried the boat out last night and I was able to get up and plane
motor sounds great, but I noticed the boat was reading hotter than I would like or I think it should be, it was at 180 and staying there, reading post here seems 150 is the magic number? I just ordered a new thermostat and new impeller for the pump, just in case.

I put my hands on both risers, they were warm and I could keep my hands on them.

I am going to check the hose from the pump as well just in case anything is restricting flow, but I do get lots of water coming out of the drive.

Temperature sensor would be the other thing I would look at, cheap and easy change.

Anything else i should look at.

Volvo SX outdrive

Thanks

Steve

get an infared thermometer and verify the engine temp. if you can put your hands on the manifolds/risers, then they are below 160F

I suspect a bad gauge or sender, however its always a good idea for impellers and thermostats
