What the heck is this hole?

Well this is probably a really stupid question and it shows how much of a rookie I am. But I recently lifted my motor and I was inspecting the bottom of the hull on the boat, when I noticed a hole about 2/3 of the way up the boat on the port side, it is definitely there on purpose does it have something to do with the live well. It is under the floor boards where I cant see it from the inside. 1991 Lund Tyee II 16' obviously a new boat to me.

Boats are rigged in a lot of different ways, so your guess is better than mine since you can see the boat.<br />Fill your livewell with ater and pull the drain lever. If water comes out the hole then that's what it is. <br />Stick a garden hose on the hole and see what happens. <br />Put some water in the hull and turn on the bilge pump. <br />Like I said, your guess.
