What are a few questions to ask the salesman when I get my new boat in about a week? What specifically should I look at on the boat and trailer? Warranty issues? Service? Stuff like that?
I asked a few questions at the time of purchase(have not paid for it yet...besides down payment) and thought it was a decent boat and fair price.
I am not mentioning the brand...because a new boat is a new boat and I can't change the order now.
Dman

Like you said, warrenty, service(EXACTLY, what it covers and how and when to go about getting service). Any salesman worth thier salt should cover these issues in detail when you pick it up. Other questions like, fuel economy, state boating laws, insurance, etc. should have been asked b4 you bought it. Best of luck to you with the new ride!

Is the dealer winterinzing it for you? It is my guess that you will not be taking it on an acceptance ride, to ensure everything is just right before delivery. The issue I see is that you will be taking delivery of a boat without the shakedown cruise with the dealer, putting it into storage for 6 months, and warranty begins when? The day you drive it off the lot. If it were my deal, I might of worked it out so the warranty began when I could start using it. Maybe thats not an issue here, but it seems logical ot me.

I'm just picking up the boat and trailer, no motor, so they will not be winterizing it. Heck, it won't make it to the water this year. Insurance, laws, fuel and things like that are not an issue with me...I believe I know most of them.
I will see if I can get the warranty to begin say April 1 or so.....see what they say. Never thought of that. What about the boat/trailer itself?
Thanks.
Dman
