What to buy, new or used?

I am looking at purchasing a new Stratos 285 XL (18'6") bass boat with a 150Yamaha V-Max for about mid twenties. I can get a bigger boat (19-20') for a less money if I buy a used one. There are a couple Ranger, nitro and stratos boats in the local trader all are at least 19'and a 20' or two.

What would be the best to do buy? A very nice new boat with a warranty or pay less and buy a bigger used boat?

I personally like to buy used boats. They take a big initial hit when driven off of the dealership lot. Older boats tend to not depreciate as rapidly. I like getting more boat for the money. I buy my boats pretty cheap knowing that I will put some sweat equity into them, then I go through everything and end up with a really nice boat. I don't mind working on my boat though.

That being said; if you don't mind the payment, and you want the new boat warranty...​
