What to cover shed floor with? Opinions?

Were moving along quite well, keep forgeting to take pictures before it gets dark.<br /><br />Today's topic: FLOORING!<br /><br />Currently Wood Subfloor.<br /><br />We will be running pallet jacks and racks on rollers over the floor, so it needs to be hard.<br /><br />We want something to cover the floor to keep the wood from chiping.<br /><br />One option is just to paint it every year or so, but what other ideas are out there?

We have vinyl it holds up to the floor jacks pretty good BUT does crack over time<br /><br />BUT i am sure we are moveing a lot more stuff as its a full time plant,the heavy skids are 4 X 55 gallon drums<br /><br /><br />tommays

Paint will be too slippery.

KRS... Think so? ... just regular floor paint was the thought.<br /><br />...Tommays, Vinyl tile or sheet vinyl?

Anything weaker than the sub floor unless you're after asthetics is a waste.Maybe some kind of epoxy resin overlay.

I do think so. I don't know of any paint (without grit additive) that won't be a hazard.

if you could find the old flooring out of a tractor trailer it is hard and would last along time. Check around for old bowling allie floors, and stuff like that also.

Its the industral 12 x 12 tiles over a 3/4 floor on a mezzanine <br /><br />So its pretty close to what your doing It cleans up easy and keeps spills from degradeing the wood<br /><br /><br />We do HD expoy over the concrete highly over rated allways needs touch up<br /><br />In are highest use areas we have the 6" stone tiles there pretty bullet proof BUT you dont even want to know what that cost <br /> <br /><br />tommays

Seal it and use an epoxy paint with non-slip additive sorta like sand grains in it,you can buy the vinyal floor tile 12"x12"at lowes and they glue down not that hard to do at all.But we are talking about a shed or garage so i think i would seal and paint with a solid color stain because if its like my place it is going to get mess and take beating and solid color stain every 4 years wash it and re-stain.

Epoxy paint will run roughly $500 to get 2 coats down. <br /><br />We will be rolling a lot of things around, just don't want the wood to chip. No engine storage, so the only moisture being brought in will be on the shoes.<br /><br />Going to look into the vinyl tiles next.

Somehow we ended up with a few piles of the commercial tiles that they use for school and hospital floors. That stuff looks bulletproof..

Don't forget the moisture that will seep up and get underneath the wood.

Our hangar floors are painted and when wet that becomes a skating rink. Of course that's over concrete but still...

Going to go with Vinyl Tile.<br /><br />After july 4th we move everything out and put down the floor.<br /><br />Right now, we just moved in the esentials to get us running, everything temporary while we get a feel where we want stuff as we work in there before we build permanent shelves/bins etc.<br /><br />Should hopefully have my camera back tonight from my BIL so I can take some updated pics
