What to do about this old toilet.

OK on my old 87 Bayliner Cierra I have this exact same toilet. It uses raw water then ejects in to the holding tank. Now it has a few issues, It leaks in a few different places. Is the bowl universal to other systems? Can I just buy an electric upgrade kit and use the old bowl which is of pretty good quality? I only use this boat in the ocean so are the electric ones safe to use with raw water?

You can get kits to rebuild them, Most RV places that have parts departments can get the kits for them. That said, you best bet is to can it and buy a new one.

The rebuild kits are complete and pretty expensive $75 at least.

Still less expensive than a new porcelain toilet, I have rebuilt a lot of them for RV's and those are not inexpensive toilets.
