I have a large plastic freezer bag in my boat with old torn up plastic baits of worms, lizards, minnows, creatures, etc.

My first inclination was to heave it but before I do so I was hoping someone may know of a useful purpose to justify keeping them around.

Helpful thoughts appreciated.

Kevin

Pieces of plastic worms about 1 inch long with spinner bait skirts run through them like legs make for excellent panfish baits. Mimics bugs.

If you want to go into the lure making busines, you can buy molds, melt them down and make new worms. You can make great do nothin worms this way if you add softener to them. You can buy an old microwave at a garage sale and put it in the garage just for this, dont use your wifes or everything will tast like worms forever.

try repairing 'em with a piece of coathangar wire wrapped around a soldering iron. come to think of it, you could join bits of worms that were never meant to be together...create your own one-of-a-kind creature baits. hmmmmm...boggles the mind....

I give my old plastics to my kids and tell them that they are gummie worms that don't have any flavor.

Couldn't you at least roll 'em in sugar first?

Dang, this idea is good nuff for Martha Stewart, what's that address?

When a plastic thingy is toast, I rip 'em into about 3/8" long pieces and keep them in my tackle box with to my crawler harnesses (for walleye)... After putting a crawler on, stick a piece of rubber/plastic worm or twister body on to keep the worm from wiggling off. Is particularly good since we are barbless only here. I also like that you can ad a bit of colour to the presentation. You can re-use one piece many times.
