i have a 1978 starfire with a omc motor. had the boat on the lake today and was running like a top. then the accerlation went out. was stuck in the middle of the lake with kids on board. it seemed like the boat just went out of gear. could not move foward or reverse, but would accelerate in forward or reverse but not move. does this sound like a gear box, lower unit, or something totally different?? it is electric shift, it has a acuater (think thats what its called) that has to engage. please help!!!
