Hello,

I've never owned a boat before, but I'm interested in getting one for inshore fishing/recreation. I have a budget of no more than 7k. I found a 1994 15' nautica hard bottom center console with a 90 hp jet engine. It comes with a trailer and and runs great. I'm not really sure what to look for in a used inflatable.

Is this boat too old to consider? Will that jet engine be a problem?

Basically I want an easy boat to drive, tow, and store. Are inflatables last longer than fiberglass boats/are they easier to maintain?

That's a lot for that year. More like $3 to 3.5 K in great condition.

No , fiber glass boat will last for 100 years at least an inflatable boat 30 to 40 the best but if you are restricted in the storage area an inflatable boat will be the wright choose. In you case I have to say stay away from a jet propusion this is nothing but a jet ski weather you'll buy a RIB or a SIB to have 2 independent units (boat and engine) is the best if the engine goas bad just discarded and get a new one but not with a jet propulsion the engine is part of the boat so you can take it from here and make up you mind.
