I think of buying a 1990 glastron seirra with a 3.0 mercruiser in it. as far as I can tell it is in excellent shap, only one bad spot in the upolstrey, and a very solid floor. BUt I really don't know what to look for. the guy is hard set on 5500, he is selling wit with top, cover, batter, skis and life jackets. what should I look at and is this a resonalble price for 1990 boat and trailor..?<br /> THomas

Take it to a mechanic and have him go over it. Test run it for an HOUR. Compare similar boats in your LOCAL area. If all checks out, pay the man.

I would test drive it and then take it to a mechanic to have checked out. If not, at least test drive it and then check the lower unit oil for water and do a compression check on the motor as well. Things that look good on the surface can sometimes cost big bucks in the future. (Not counting my wife of course)!

I wouldn't get a 4 cylinder, but that's just me. Try to get at least a 6.
