What to use for wooden seat preservative?

I am getting a Lund SSV-16 which has wooden seats. What should I use to coat the seats in order to make them last?

sand down whatever on them if anythin' from factory... coat with 2 coats of 'thin epoxy' .. get it at any marine center.. then wait a week .. litely scuff sand thoughly & wash down with ( important ) a 50/50 water ammonia mix.. an varnish with a marine varnish... any will do .. but EPIPHINES is the hands-downs best...<br /><br />the varnish is very important.. it protects it from U V.. epoxy's worst nightmare...
