My boat cover is red. And it left a red tint on the top of my nice white engine cover. Any Ideas on getting it off????

I've had luck getting alot of stains out and removing mold and mildew using Tide w/Bleach powder and mixing it with water. I make a paste and scrub it with a stiff bristle brush.

What's the engine cover made of? (Assuming vinyl, but we all know what happens when one assumes...)

Yes its vinyl. And new. I don`t want to mess it up. But I do want that red off of it.

My old boat cover used to leave blue marks all over my white vinyl. I would use a non scuff kitchen scrub sponge and some 409.

There is a product called "Awesome Orange". Dollar general has a generic version called "Awesome" which works at least as well, maybe better. Try either one of those. If all else fails, a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser will do it. Just realise, when you use a Mr. Clean Magic Earaser, you are wet sanding. The grit is extremely high, so you'll take off minimal material. It's not something you want to do all the time, though.

Good luck. Please keep us posted with your results. Maybe some before and after pics...;)

You need to be very careful using any product with bleach in it. Any of that solution that reaches the stitching will severely weaken them.

That's exactly why I use a paste. It pretty much stays where you put it then you just wipe it off with a clean, damp rag after scrubbing

OK...good to let the OP know why you do it that way.
