I have an older Mercury Mariner 115HP O/B (2-stroke) motor on 1977 Fiberform boat. I think the motor is newer than the boat (1989-1994?) Motor runs great, but trim isn't working. I don't know what part to order for a new trim motor because I cannot find any identifying numbers on the motor. Can anyone help me determine which trim motor to order? Thank you much.

I have what sounds like a similar motor. Mine is a 1992 115 hp. Mine is a single ram/motor combo. I had to replace mine last year and no source I could find makes one, rebuilt or otherwise. I was forced to go to the dealer to replace the entire assembly. On mine the whole unit ran fine but it could not support any load. It seemed to be an internal crack in the pump casting. Maybe one of my good parts is what you need.

KWALL Merc had problems with the companies that supplied their tilt parts. And in some cases, you do have to replace the whole unit.Bring your serial number in to your dealer, and he can check and see what can be done. There is a service advisory about it,and if I remember right,it's about 8 pages long.<br />DHP
