What type of boat is this?

I'm in the final stages of a smaller boat restoration but have always liked the looks of the larger, wooden cruisers. Can anyone tell me what company made this boat? I can't enlarge the photo with enough resolution to see the make.

Thanks.

It's apparently the latest offering from the Skunkworks boat shop.... Can't see a thing.........

The forum is experiencing some technical difficulties. Pix uploads are one of the problems currently.

You can try Photobucket (its a free 3rd party pix hosting site). For every pix you upload there, there's an IMG code. Copy & paste that code IN your posts. The code looks like this:
IMG]http://i1246.photobucket.com/albums/1960%20Sea%20Nymph%20R-12-A/SeaNymphCapacityplate_zps46188464.png[/IMG

And the pix show up nice & big IN your replies:

That is a nice boat for sure. I don't know if it is an actual classic. It could be, but there a few things about it that look too modern to me.

It is the style of boat that I would call a "Sedan" or "Commuter". It looks to be of the style & design of a boat from the 1930s-the early 1950s.

If it is a true classic it has certainly been restored and updated. The blue doesn't seem quite right for an original color.

I don't think it is a Chris-Craft, but they are probably the best known in that era of boat building.

Owens comes to mind. So does Hacker. So does Gar Wood. There are other much smaller companies that built boats back then also.

If it is a modern interpretation of a classic, there are many custom boat builders that could have built that. VanDam is one possibility.

As for the style, I would call her a 'sedan cruiser with a flying bridge', or 'flying bridge sedan cruiser'. I suppose she could also be classified as an early 'sport fisherman'. She would not be called a commuter, which is a fairly specific prewar style. As for who built her, definitely none of the names mentioned so far. I would consider looking toward a post war Elco (1947 or 194. Elco went out of business in 1949.). The styling is post war.

Oh, and if she is a post war Elco she will have a pair of v-drives for power. Nice boat!

yep, I would go with a 1948 Elco.
