I think Fountain or Donzi might be able to get you in that 70 MPH + Range

LCM-8 has a very good point. Many cruisers today will get into the upper 40's with V-8 power, maybe even 50.

If you want to go 70, you are in a whole new class of boat-read EXPENSIVE!!

Re: what type of boat

I have a 1998 Fountain. Perfect for what you want to do. 27' with HP 500 (470 horsepower). Seats 5 comfortably, 6 ok...Cuddy with bed and seats. 75 mph. Trailerable, yet as a Fountain, rides better than most 30+ foot boats. It isn't new, but is in very good condition. To buy what you want new, you are looking at huge dollars. Call me at (231) 409-2643, if you are really interested, I will shoot some pics to you. Plan on mid 40k's to get mine.

No mention here of experience in boating. If you are new to boating I would not start out with a 70mph rocket. Buy a cheaper boat and trash it before you hit the afterburners on an expensive boat.

the usual 2 cents,
Kelly Cook

Re: what type of boat

Good point Kcook. I am novice boater, I have been paying with my cheap bass boat for sometime now, and a few of my friends runabouts, the fast i smy bass boat witch at times hits 50 mph. BUt you are right I would need to gain more experince before taken on a larger faster boat, I will take all the boating saftey courses I can and continue to tool around on the local lake. Beassures, I have covered theese grounds, next step is purchasing

Thanks,
thomas

Your most bang-for-the-buck in a performance cuddy is the Stingray 230SX . Shouldn't be too hard to find some used ones. Though these are not in the same league as a Fountain. Not nearly as expensive either.

Kelly
