What type silicone or sealant?

I'm going to totally redo the livewell system in my Ranger 350v bass boat.
I also want to change the livewell areator pump thru hull inlet fittings to
Flow Rite brand with snap in strainers.
My question is what type silicone or sealant to use to seal everything back up.
This boat has a wood transom so I want to seal everything correctly.
Something I can get from Lowes or Home Depot or do I need something special for marine use.

the sealant of choice is 3m 4200 or sikkens sikka flax....the 4200 is a home depot thing the sikka flex is more a specialty thing.........silly cone will work....BUT.......

I agree with oops on the 3m 4200 but I would not use silicone at all.

When you remove the old fittings.... check the wood in those spots and coat the heck out of the wood with your sealant before you insert the new tubes.

One more "m" and oops has got that 3m 4200 down pat .. that would be my first option..

Sekaflex.. I agree is the only other option..very good stuff

Silicone .. erm.. not a good choice m8..

Just make sure you "prep" all your bond surfaces with some sandpaper ( or even a scotchbright ) and cleaner b4 install..

Sometimes wallymart has 3m 5200 in smaller tubes but that is PERMANENT!

Home depot or lowes.... do not let them steer you to something else..... or a marine store.
