On my Merc 200 hp (94 model) I noticed the jacket is broken on one of my cables. How do I now what type cable I have in order to replace? Can I do this, or is this a repair shop thing?<br />THanks

if you mean throttle and shift cables-there's usually numbers stamped in the sheathing about 2 feet from either end that tell the length and manufacturer...also,if one cable is worn out-the other isn't far behind-do both
