I saw in Teleflex's tech support that they recommend a 60 psi water pressure guage for my 1996 Johnson Fast Strike 150 V6.Model number BJ150GLEUE.

But I was not able to find any white background 60 psi. I also saw in their webpage that 30 psi could also work - conflicting.

Just want to ask owners of similar OBs what psi do I actually use?

Thanks in advance!

Francis

My '89 150XP pumps about 30 psi when WOT... I've been told that's normal.

The 60 degree V6's run around 15 to 17 psi at WOT, unless you have a set of high volume water water pick-ups, then you might see 20 psi. Use the 30 psi gauge.

BTW, the model number of your engine is a 1997, not a '96.

-John

doral, I've wondered that my self, in my clymer shop manual It even says that this motor should have a 60 psi gauge. I have been told that a 30 will work but the neddle will be pegged the whole time or it should be. I've seen some say 10 to 20 psi and some say even30 to 45 psi so its conflicting I agree, I plan on getting one for mine but Im confused also I think I go with 60, they make the color I need. good luck

A while back I was shopping for gauges and I could have sworn I saw white WP gauges for 60 PSI. Check out the Faria line. This particular websites imply a 60psi in white face, but you never know. Good luck. faria gauge info

also: more faria info
