The problem is, how can you deal with, or defeat a radical religous group, that thinks the most glorious future possible, is to die for the cause?

There is one way, but it would not be feasible untill the whole world was threatened, THUS World War Three. The Japanese had their suicide pilots, and whole companies of soldiers, all were more than willing to die for the emperor which was very similer to the mindset of the radical arab groups (including the palistineians) It took the two atomic bombs dropped to change a mindset that cannot be defeated in any other way. To defeat a cause, they must give up, must surrender. When a party or group has no fear of death, or punishment, but thinks it will lead to glorious salvation, there will be no surrender, or defeat without a mind boggling change of thoughts, ideals, etc. The way the world situation is as exist today, they are winning, and the only way to beat them down, is with wholesale slaughter of their ranks, and as they are not identified by color, uniforms, apearance, or any other means it means a slaughter of the innocent along with the guilty, and the situation has to get very bad, and involve all of the powerfull countrys on earth, and then they would all have to act as one. Any other such action in this day and age could spell the end of modern civilization.

dude, that's sick!<br />always more than 1 way to skin a cat...<br />the religious aspect sure makes it tough though.<br />how do you stop the brainwashing by religious<br />leaders??? the Koran (sp) tells people any type<br />of killing is wrong for any reason, but these<br />zealots take a few passages and make a completely<br />diff. intrepertation and preach it loud to the<br />most poor people you can imagine.<br />reminds me of the crusades or the spanish inquisition.<br />how do you stop/change that?

We need to stay in Iraq only long enough to remove any terrorists regimes that pose a threat to civilized nations.Trying to civilize the people and their thought process and way of life is near impossible and a waste of our resources.We can't even civilize our own inner cities.

Know what we do... When we catch one of them, instead of putting them in prison, here is what we do. Women to them is lower than low. So we take them and give them sex changes. Make them a women and put them back into their own society. This would be the worst for them. Maybe if we get enough of them like this, their attuide would change towards women and they would get some rights. Hit them where it hurts. And I am not talking just cut off their you know whats... I am talking the full operation. Upper and lower. Tatoo makeup on so they will always look like a women. <br /><br />Just my two cents

We won't. We have learned from our past mistakes.<br /><br />We are not getting the real picture of what the Iraqi people think. They are behind us 110%. However, they are nervous and scared, as they should be.<br /><br />Remember, we occupied Germany and Japan for over seven years following WWII. Snipings were common there too from loyalists to the nazi party and those still loyal to the emperor..

What pisses me off about the war is this,<br /><br />It seems like every friggen day on the news they tell us another one of our men has been killed, its like nam. Its almost like no big deal anymore. it really pisses me off. When two or three men die per day it really adds up.<br /><br />I'm a Bush fan and I'm worryed that it will cost him the electon. We should go back to war and finish what we started.<br /><br />At least we killed sadams two dirtbag sons,

right on JB! if you read the teachings of Mohammed<br />you would see that they believe pretty much the<br />same as we do concerning killing others.<br />brainwashing young people ain't hard! especially<br />when they's dirt poor and have had members of<br />their family dead/dying before their eyes. watch <br />the footage of the "terrorists" in Palestine.<br />the spokesman is maybe 17-18yrs old and surrounded<br />by younger males as young as 12?<br />bloods vs. cripps kinda stuff..(LA gangs)<br />have every confidence that the "people" of Iraq<br />will do what it takes to change this.<br />at least they have the funding (oil) to have a chance....

castaway - i like your line of thought especially when you realize how friggin ignorant those people are, that would play the revenge game for BS reasons like because we killed husseins sons. its just unbelievable the rationalizations that come up. <br /><br />i can understand your frustration totally. i'd rather work out probs, but if drastic steps were taken to eliminate terrorists, i'd probably be all for it. that is, as a nation, not vigilante group. i don't think you meant to freak anyone out, just venting. <br /><br />speaking of rationalizations, JB - i can appreciate your 'what if', but its way off, as far as religious teachings. at least concerning christian teachings... that remark is along the same lines as the belief of john smith; there is a critical diff between a prophet & the son of god. lol
