What year 25 hp mercury

I recently bought a 25 hp mercury serial number ob351958. Could anyone tell me what year this is? It also gives me an electrical shock on the handle at higher speeds. Any suggestions? Kill switch not grounding on tiller maybe?

triley,<br /><br />The shocks are coming from the stop switch in the end of the tiller handle. The original ones from the factory weren't sealed and they get water in them. The stop wire has 400 volts on it and you are a pretty inviting path to ground. <br /><br />Either replace the switch or pull it out, clean and dry it and re-seal it with some silicone.<br /><br />The year of the beast is 1988.<br /><br />Chris............
