Hi people i got a mariner 3.5hp but not 100% sure of year i think its 1981 but could someone confirm the number is 642.s.027780 thanks

Looks to be a 1980 model....An 81' model would begin with 6E0...

I'm having a hard time finding anything that's available for your motor. Hopefully some others will be able to help out... In the meanwhile, you may want to shoot the folks at oldmercs.com a line and see it they can help...Hang tight...

Jim not many parts available, no kit anywhere I cked but inlet needles and a few single items are available at the BAM Marine and USBoatSupply sites both are large Merc/ Mariner dealers so they must not be available from Mercury Marine either

Hi laddies thanks for having a look for parts i am having trouble finding anything the only thing we need for the carb is new gaskets really , i filled the leak i had with epoxy you said about and it worked great no more leak now many thanks for help with that one but the thing is now i get the engine to run and it runs for about 5 mins or so and when its given a little throttle it cuts out so i think the carb needs a good overhaul and clean but i dont want to do that unless i can get replacement gaskets which is what im having trouble finding
