Hi ya' craneman....we'll try to help.

From the serial number, it looks like a 1967. The first part of the number, 67020, I believe is 6702, the last 0 may be a letter.

Mix on this engine I beieve is 50:1....16oz oil to 6 gal of gas.

Don't hesitate to post any questions you may have. Thanks.

Re: what year and fuel mixture

i have actually had it for about 6 years, only used it twice, i bought it off of an older fellow, still in the box, never used, took it in for a tune up when i forst got it and never did bother to ask what year it was, the guy in the shop told me the fuel mixture and i wrote it on the mix bottle, but it got tossed this winter, it looks brand new, everyone comments on it when they see it,
and works great too

thanks for the quick answers

did not keep the box, was kinf of new to boats and did not realize what i had , i can tell by the comments i get when people see it that it is something, actually when i first got it and took it to the shop, the guy there offered me 200.00 for it, i said no, i wanted to use it around the lake, i have it on the stand in my garage now, i changed the plugs and the lower case fluid last summer and then ran for a while, thing still runs like brand new, only problem i found is that when i changed the plugs over, i could not find the exact plugs but the dealer gave me autolite, 353 i believe, i installed, but have not started since, i am going to check and make sure it runs before taking it out on opening day for trout this year

Don't use anything in that motor but champion plugs. I have one like it and she doesn't fire well at all except on champion.

Re: what year and fuel mixture

J4J got discontinued in favor of the J4C (slight electrode change). Although I'm no expert on American stores, I've heard NAPA autoparts carries them. Up here, you can find them pretty well anywhere that sells spark plugs.

Good luck!

PS - my manual showes J6J for your outboard (now J6C). It may be wrong, but if you find the J4C plugs are fouling on you, you might want to try the J6C. They're slightly hotter and will burn off the carbon better. Avoid the RJ6C and RJ4C, they overly tax the ignition system.

EDIT: I've seemed to have found confirmation about the J6C here.
