What year/ brand is my motor.

Hello, new to the board. I am a bit confused on how to tell if I have OMC or Volvo Penta system on my boat. I am not sure of the exact model year. It is somewhere in the 94-97 range. I have a Four winns 190 horizon with a 5.0 in it. It says Volvo Penta cobra sx on the outboard. However the book that came with it says OMC stern drives.

OMC and Volvo were in a joint venture from 94 to 98 when Volvo bought them out completely and OMC sterndrives came to an end.

The sterndrive is the Volvo design insides in the housings that resemble the OMC Cobra.
